================================================================================== ======== #VPC-Hub on irc.dejatoons.net ========= IRC home of VPC cartoons ======== ================================================================================== (Based on @Aquamann's SysReset guide) __________________________________________________________________________________ SETTING UP A FILESERVER ================================================================================== 01 At the top of the program window, you should see File, Tools, DCC, SysReset, Window and Help. Select Sysreset > Fileserver Manager 02 You should now see tabs/menus for Transfer Manager, Server Config, Fileserver Triggers, TDCC Triggers, XDCC Triggers and Bans FILESERVER TRIGGERS: 01 Select the Fileserver Triggers tab 02 You should see Fserve Trigger List. In the menu, click the "Add" button 03 It will ask you to enter your "trigger" text (A trigger is what is typed in order for others to access your Fserv). You are free to enter in anything here 04 Next it will ask you for a welcome file. Just hit "Cancel" 05 Next it will ask you for the folder that everyone will be able to access on your Fserv. Create a folder for the files you want to share, and then select that folder with the browser. 06 After that is complete you should now see your trigger name in the Fserv Trigger list box. Highlight your trigger. 07 Now check the boxes under the settings "Enabled" and "/ctcp Trigger." Under Global, enable "respond to !list" 08 Then select the access mode for your Fserv: * No Restrictions = anybody in the channel can access the Fserv * Opped/Voiced Users Only = only channel operators and other servers have access * Opped Users Only = only channel operators have access 09 Now go to the Trigger Channels menu and make sure you disable all channels 10 Fill in #VPC-Hub under the Trigger Channels menu. Then click "Add" and you will see the channel show up in the box. Now that you're done setting up your trigger options, you can move on to the Server Config tab. SERVER CONFIG: 01 Select the Server Config tab 02 Ad Delay: set it to 0 and disable it. #VPC-Hub does not allow Fserv ads to show up in the channel, this will ensure that yours does not. 03 Force Close (sec): set it to 0 and disable it 04 Now you should see Max Users. Max Users is the number of people who can enter the Fserv at the same time. Set this to whatever you want 05 Slot Display: keep to default 06 Now on the other side you should see Max Sends. Max sends is the amount of sends you will have simultaneously. Base the number you enter upon the kind of internet connection you have. 07 Underneath Max Sends you should see Max Queues. Max Queues is the amount of files people people can be in line for on your Fserv. Set the amount of queues that users are allowed to have individually, as well as the total number of queues to be allowed on your Fserv 08 Finally, configure your resend procedure by setting the amount of resends you will give to users who fail to complete downloads from your Fserv __________________________________________________________________________________ ENABLING YOUR FILESERVER ================================================================================== 01 Click on Sysreset and select "Servers Active" 02 In the Servers Active menu, select "Silent with !list" 03 CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE NOW SETUP ON SYSRESET AND SERVING :) * Being a server gives you +v status, allowing you to access some exclusive Fservs. We will be keeping an eye out for fast, dedicated servers that can help us better distribute new encodes as they are released. * If you need anymore assistance or want to test your Fserv, please ask a channel operator. ================================================================================== ======== #VPC-Hub on irc.dejatoons.net ========= IRC home of VPC cartoons ======== ==================================================================================
